Lion + RAM installed with restart failures
Submitted by inzgary on January 26, 2012 - 8:42amHello all! I just upgraded my iMac 8,1 to 6 GB of ram. I put the 4 GB card in slot 0 and 2 GB in slot 1. Everything seemed register fine so I went ahead in upgraded the SSW to Lion. It was odd because only during the install of Lion when the system restarted I would hear a beeping sound and would have to manually shut it off and restart it.
C2D MacBook Case problems

Intel CPU Upgrade Question
Submitted by alk on December 8, 2010 - 3:40amMan, I feel like a n00b. It has been a while since I had to ask questions about Mac upgrades. What happens if you put a CPU with a 1066MHz FSB on a machine that runs at 800MHz? I see that my 2.4GHz aluminum iMac is a Socket P machine with an 800MHz FSB. I'd like to drop in a Core 2 Quad Q9100, but Intel says the FSB is 1066MHz on this part. Otherwise, the specs look compatible to me (Socket P, same TDP, etc).
Thoughts?
