iTunes help

i just got this new video iPod. . . i am a first time user. . . anyways at the bottom of my iTunes where the space used and the space still avaliable is there is a little lock there and it is preventing me from being able to listen to the music that is on my iPod, on my computer.. . . so i want to listen on my computer what is on my iPod .. get it .. so i need help . . can someone please tell me how do i get that off...

iPods are supposed to be a one-way street. You put the music you want to listen to on it, but you aren't (supposed) to copy it back out. There's programs to copy it back, but they aren't Apple endorsed. In most all cases, you should have the originals still on your computer. If you are tryignt o plug the iPod into a different machine thatn the one it syncs to, then you'll need to search for one of the programs that copy music off an iPod.
