Studio Display Blue & White Settings

Is there a setting on the b&w studio display that disables the mode it goes to when there is no signal. Here is the problem. I am trying to use a KVM switch. When I connect my monitor to the KVM it acts like it doesn't have a signal. The light on the power switch stays yellow instead of green.
