Where to Buy Authorized Apple II Disks Besides Syndicomm??

Hi. Does anyone know where to buy authorized Apple II disks such as ProDos, GSOS 6.0.1, Shrinkit, etc. besides Syndicomm?

Thank you.

You don't have to 'buy' those, unless you're looking for a convenient disk copy service. ProDOS, GSOS are free to download and use. ShrinkIt is a freeware. If you don't want to download and roll your own disks with something like ADTPro, there are these (http://www.blujay.com/?page=profile&profile_username=drkenb&catc=4019000).

Pretty expensive IMO.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will check on the ADT cabling. I paid for some disks from Syndicomm, but it has been a few weeks and no response, so I am tired of waiting to get things going.

I do not suggest anyone deal with those files on Apple's website unless it's absolutely necessary.

I think this link I am posting here will be easier since the files are not so hard to decompress. Those files on Apple's website require a macintosh with the right programs installed to decompress the files.

http://www.macgui.com/downloads/?file_id=27935

This is an ISO file.

On the CD there is an "about this disc" file which says:

"About the APDA Apple II Software Library

The APDA Apple II Software Library CD-ROM contains disk images and scanned copies of the manuals for all of the Apple II software from Apple that Syndicomm is licensed to distribute.

Our separate APDA Apple II Reference Library CD-ROM (APDA-98) offers the Apple II technical documentation from Apple Syndicomm is licensed to distribute.

Before using the contents of this CD-ROM, please review the license agreement in the file "License Agreement.txt". You are bound by the terms of this license agreement. Unauthorized redistribution of the contents of this CD-ROM is illegal, so please don't do it.

Included on this CD-ROM:

Apple DOS 3.3
MPW IIgs Tools
MPW IIgs Assembler
MPW IIgs C
MPW IIgs Pascal
Apple II Desktop Toolkit
Apple II Filecard Toolkit
Apple II High-Speed SCSI Card Utilities
Apple II System Disk 3.2 and 4.0.2
Apple II Video Overlay Card Development Kit
Apple IIgs Source Code Sampler
Apple IIgs System 5.0.4
Apple IIgs System 6.0.1
Apple IIgs System 6 Release Notes
Apple Pascal 1.3
Apple SuperPILOT Special Edition 1.0.2
AppleShare Setup Disk
APW Interfaces
GSBug and Debugging Tools
HyperCard IIgs
HyperCard IIgs Developers Kit
HyperMover

Note that in order to fit the filename restrictions of this CD-ROM, the filenames don't necessarily match the titles of the products precisely.

Please note also that the MPW tools are for use with the Macintosh Programmer's Workshop, which runs on Mac OS 6 through Mac OS 9 on Macintosh computers. The MPW environment itself may be downloaded from Apple, free of charge.

Also on this CD-ROM is an Adobe Acrobat PDF index: if you own Acrobat or Acrobat Reader, you can open the file "Apple II Software Lib.pdx" to access an index of the complete contents of all manuals included on this disc."

That ISO contains Syndicomm's compilation of licensed material that Syndicomm is licensed from Apple to distribute.
MacGUI hosting that file that is a contravention of the license.
I will ask David to remove it.
