This DIY Wacom Cintiq pen graphic tablet/monitor hack just turned up on hackaday - mounting the sensor panel from a standard (ie cheap) graphic tablet under an LCD and its backlight. This might give some inspiration to Powerbook/iBook/MacBook tablet builders, let alone being a cool hack in its own right.

That's fantastic!
Hey Tom, this would make a great article for Make! Think you can talk the guy into submitting one?

Hey I just built one of these! I read that very same article and it gave me the same idea. Check out my worklog: http://fabiennemaurer.com/flo/tablet/
It takes a little time to learn how to use but it's extremely fun. If Apple ever builds a proper one, I'm definately buying one.
Main problem with the idea though, is that it's hard to find a tablet that's the same size as the screen. Maybe if I had used an iBook it would have been better (not widescree)?
Cool flojoe! Nice to see someone else had the same brainfart on reading that article.
