Best video card for a Uni-3 Sawtooth G4?

Hello,

I have a Uni-3 Sawtooth G4. The specifications are as follows:

- Single 1.5GHz 7455 processor
- 2.0GB of RAM
- Pioneer DVR-105 optical drive
- 120GB Hitachi 7200 RPM 8MB cache hard drive
- GeForce 2MX 32MB video card

The G4 is currently running 9.2.2, 10.3.9 and 10.4.9. I pretty much use 10.4.9 all the time. On occasion I will boot into 10.3.9, but never for long.

I am curious as to what the best video card is for this G4. The AGP 2x seems to be the limiting factor.

I would like the video card to be Core Image and Quartz Extreme compatible.

I have a contact who is willing to sell or trade me a Radeon 9700. It has 128MB of VRAM, one VGA, and one DVI output. It is a flashed PC card that he has been running in his Cube with no issue.

Let me know what is out there and what people have done.

I don't know about the specs of the 9700 but I do know that some Radeon 9800 Pro cards can be used as well as some of the nvidia 6x00 series. Still though, you really should search for strangedogs. The URL eludes me at the moment.
