ADC>DVI>HDMI

I have a G4 with a DVI and a ADC output. I have two monitors with HDMI input.

On the DVI output, I have a cable that has DVI on one end and HDMI on the other, and it has a great picture on the first monitor.

On the ADC output, I have a Belkin ADC to DVI adaptor and then another cable with DVI on one end HDMI on the other going to the other monitor. When I connect this monitor there is no picture at all, the monitor just says "no signal". But in the display properties, it does show up. It allows me to choose the arrangement of the monitors, and the mouse goes off of the first screen as if it is going to the second monitor. When I arrange the monitors side by side the mouse goes off screen to the right. When I arrange the monitors top to bottom, the mouse goes off screen to the top.... just like it should...you just can't see it on the second monitor. When I disconnect the ADC cable these options are not there, so the computer does recognize something is hooked up to it.

I have read where others have gotten this to work, so I think it can be done...I hope. Any ideas why I am not getting a picture from the ADC > DVI > HDMI connection??? I have tried switching monitors and cables, and the problem is always with whatever is on the ADC output.

Just in case anyone needs this same information, I found the answer to my problem. After researching the pinouts of ADC, DVI, and HDMI connectors, I found there were two pins available in the DVI and HDMI connectors, which were not available in the ADC connector. They are on pins 14 and 16 in the DVI connector and pins 18 and 19 on the HDMI connector. They are +5v and "Hot Plug Detect". Since these are not available on the ADC connector what I did to fix it was strip back the DVI to HDMI cable on the DVI end, and then take apart the DVI end of the ADC to DVI adaptor. I then ran a jumper wires from pins 14 and 16 of the DVI adaptor to pins 14 and 16 of the DVI end of the DVI to HDMI cable. I plugged the cables in and booted up and both monitors were detected and auto set to the proper resolution. I have a great picture on both now. Anyway, I just thought I would pass the info on.
