5500 Ethernet Trouble

PowerPC Macs

I have one funky 5500.The machine was origionally a 5200/75 and I put a 5500 board that I recovered form a mac that had probably beenout in the rain for about a year. The board is perfect, no rust, no scratchs. I got at least 5 different Farallon pci ethernet cards from the same source. I have tried a bunch, but the ethernet won't show up in apple talk. I have tried downloading drivers, but the servers were down. I need drivers or something. The card shows up in the system profiler. I need help, please!

Thanx,
Macintoshme

Get into the Zone

The 6400 Zone has Farallon drivers for the Comm Slot II card, and with any luck the PCI drivers may be in with those files.

Go here, and give 'em a try.

Look like Farallon's site is down for the count. Anyone know if they've gone under?

re 5500

I couldn't remember if I had the card in when I installed the operating system. I went into 8.5 and installed all of the extensions having to do with ethernet, and now I am using my iMac to server 56k internet to the 5500!

thanx for the suggestion,
Macintosh me
