Unbutu Linux CD sets for FREE !

For Sale and Trade

I have 4 Unbutu linux CD sets for PPC Macs to give away to Mac users curious about Linux. I know nothing about Linux and installed on my iMac very easily.

The set has a "live" CD that you can run on your Mac to see what it's like before installing the OS. An install CD is also included.

This is an easy Linux to install on Macs with a "New-World" ROM from iBooks and iMacs on up. This will not work with anything made before iMacs and iBooks.

I will also inclde the x86 CD set if you have a use for it also. A very good alternative to Windoze.

Unbutu is Linux for human beings. Check their site for more info:

http://www.ubuntulinux.org/

Unbutu is developed by one of the most wealthy men in the world who has a vision of free Operating Systems for everyone. This guy really hates Commercial OS's and believes a Linux OS should be freely distributed and developed for the majority of PC users who are not geeks.

He will even send you free copies through the website which is how I got mine.

I was impressed because I installed it myself and I can now feel good about passing along the copies to other Mac people.

IMHO it is not a replacement for OS X, but Hey it's free !
It's gotta be better than OS 9.......

The first 4 replys get the CD sets and I'll even pay postage.

It can work on any PCI Mac, but probbly needs BootX to get booted and some knowhow I wrote earlier. There is also some info on ubuntuforums.org but it might be buried under the Hoary 5.04 section, as the Breezy 5.10 is pretty new.

Ubuntu is a good beginner distro, but if you're looking for a fancy distro for an x86 machine, give Suse a shot. It's 5 CDs long but man is it worth it. Smiling
