Quick lo-res sprite parser in basic

Hey guys,

Recently I've been messing around with graphics on the apple, and while trying to wrap my head around hi-res mode I decided it might be fun to make something quick in lo-res.

Doing this in Applesoft with the PLOT command is easy but quite slow, especially when you try and add things such as collision or sound effects.

So I tried making a simple routine that moves a sprite around the screen by poking values directly into memory.

Anyone run APTEST?

As far as I can tell, my disk drives are working fine - I have the card in slot 6, my Floppy Emu is drive 1, and a floppy disk drive that works as drive 2.

When I run the "Disk Interface Test" in APTEST, I get "DRIVE ROM BAD" and that's it.

I have no problems running anything from the Floppy Emu, I can INIT, LOAD and SAVE things to drive 2.

Apple II+ Monitor

Hi guys,

I bought a very little LCD-monitor to use it as a second monitor for my Apple II+ - here I normally use the Videx Videoterm with my Apple Monitor II - so I would have a second one to see the 40C display.

If I connect this little monitor to a Apple IIe or a Apple II Europlus it works perfectly all right!

If I connect it on the Apple II+ to the Videx Videoterm it works perfectly all right!

If I connect it to the Apple II+ video output it does not work?!?

The monitor should work with PAL and NTSC.

What could be the problem?

Apple ii port uses?

Hello guys, Sorry for the vague subject but I figured it would get more people to see this, and in turn give a broader idea of the uses for this port.

What are the uses for the DB9 Serial port (female) that is by the cassette ports on the apple iie?

Apricorn Super Serial Imager (Apricorn SSI) and ADTPRO

just posting this as an FYI in case it helps someone else

I'd google'd and found various posts saying users couldn't make this card work with ADTPro. Nor could I...

i found the manual online and once past the confusion therein, it works! SW1 1-8, and SW2 1-8 set as follows 00011101 and 11111011 (1 being on, 0 off)

make sure the serial cable is on the modem pins and the right way round Wink

no idea yet what the busy select pins are really for (beyond the obvious) but mine has one jumper on "I"

in this config control A then 14b works nicely. FYI in case someone else finds this and finds it useful!

cheers Smile

GSOS Hide a partition?

Howdy,

I'm using a SCSI2SD w/ a rev c SCSI card. For some reason when I use adv drive utility to partition device into 4 partitions I always get a fifth 512k, empty, hfs partition named "driver" that I didn't set up??? I was wondering if one might be able to disable this partition from auto mounting or otherwise make it invisible from the finder?

DS1216E - Driver Images (Apple II)

Dear folks,

I had a couple of problems getting my DS1216E NoSlotClock (purchased in China) working.
Neither the downloaded version's from Asimov nor from somewhere else worked for me.

So I do found the following link which solved my problem and the clock is now working fine.
