There is a local listing for a Macintosh Plus from 1987. It doesnt come with a keyboard or mouse, and is unclear whether or not it works. The seller has agreed to sell it for $80. Can I get some opinions whether it seems worth the purchase?

Maybe.

Maybe. If you're comfortable with a full teardown, cleaning, and possible board repair.

One positive aspect is that you can see that there is no corrosion from the (external) "PRAM" battery; later compact Macs used batteries on the logic board. But the plastic cover for the battery has been lost.

The case has a lot of mold, and will need to be washed and sterilized (like with a UV lamp) before putting it in an office. Mold like this can infect and destroy disks. The floppy drive is probably also infected and will need similar treatment, but it's a more delicate apparatus.

The power supply/analog board will need service and these rely on a few rare and hard-to-find components, like the bipolar capacitor and the thyristor. If those get damaged it makes repair difficult.

Also, be aware that the Plus can have a flyback transfomer without a bleed resistor, which means that the EHT can stay charged for a long time after power is removed.
