Using 128 GB or Larger ATA Hard Drives

as explained here

does anyone know if I have a 200GB ATA HD partitioned by a Mac that will recognize the entire drive, like a G4 MDD, such that all the partitions are less than 128GB, say 2X 100GB partitions (or there abouts), then I stick the partitioned HD in a Mac that doesn't recognize drives larger than 128GB, say a G3 B&W, that the B&W would recognize both 100MB partitions?

Intech's SpeedTools

No, it won't work, the older Mac will only recognize partitions that are completely within the first 137GBs of the drive.

AFAIK, the only software solution for older Macs is Intech's SpeedTools. It's available from OWC for $10 if you buy a drive from them. OW the only other solution is an PCI-ATA adapter.

firewire with bridgeboard

There is one other solution...and it makes the most sense... but I need help finding it.

I can put the drive in a fw enclosure, and if there is a bridgeboard it will see the whole drive.

HELP!
Does anyone know what I am talking about? How do I find an enclosure that has such a thing? If someone could point me to a few sites, I could figure it out... but there are so many different enclsures out there... I don't know what I am looking for.

Summer classes start Monday... I need this quick!
Thanks guys!

The interface of the FW to ID

The interface of the FW to IDE is the bridgeboard. Almost any newer one should support larger drive, but it would be good to check that they specifically support them. I started a thread about enclosures, but got no response: here IIRC the one I was looking at has the reccomended Oxford 911 chipset and support for large drives.
