Headless TiBook 667 (DVI) for sale

hey everyone--

I've got a great old TiBook that's hung in there for the last 2 years with no built-in display. I dropped it and broke a hinge, and when it severed the display cable, it also shorted out the LCD driver, so it works great, just not with a built-in display.

Its got 256 megs of ram, the original stick that shipped with it, and I think the upper slot is messed up, whatever I add it reports as bad in the hardware test, but I haven't tried known-good ram, its possible the couple sticks I tried were toast. As far as storage, its got a 10 gig drive in it right now, the original crapped out on me a couple months ago and I scrounged this one from a friend.

you can see it in action here: http://homepage.mac.com/ianmeyer/PhotoAlbum5.html

make me an offer.

How?

How did you go about removing the display?

I have a 550 MHz model that has a broken display, and well, just go into the Power Mac forum on this site and you will see my post about asking how to remove a display.

thanks!

removing the screen

there are disassembly guides to be had online several places, you should be able to find one pretty easily

basically you have to take out the logic board and remove the heat pipe assembly (to be able to fit the plug through the hinge opening) before you'll be able to get the screen separated (of course there's the hinge screws where its attached to the back of the case to be taken out)

anyway, interested in a screen? i've got one, make me an offer...

Any luck with yours? I have m

Any luck with yours? I have managed to sell mine for $450... upgraded the RAM to 768MB and threw in Tiger and said you could call this the "PowerPad" and showed it hooked up to a big screen TV and also to a regular monitor. People seemed to go for it....

Just some ideas for Ebay in case you haven't sold it yet.
