Recasing an eMac - is it possible?

Hi, I've got an eMac and I was wondering, is it feasible to recase the machine without the inbuilt monitor (i.e. turn the machine into an unofficial 'Mac Mini')?

Sure

Haven't you seen the hacks where people put imac's into ATX or rack mounted cases? I would assume that an emac would be similar in size on the inside. It should work.

The eMac is a Different Animal...

... than the iMac, and there are a lot of parts from the original that have to be carried over. I was wondering the same thing a while back and Googled for it, and came across several pages that covered the specifics. Turns out that AppleFritter's own Leo Bodnar pulled it off and has lots of info on how to do it.

Thanks for the links. Did he or somebody else make a guide to casing a ''headless' eMac?

Leo's page...

... is probably the closest thing to a guide you'll find on how to do it. He doesn't go step by step, but does show you the pinouts for power and video, which is a strong start. You might contact him directly by PM to see if he can help you through the process.
