What size is the optical drive in a slot loading iMac. I have a sl dvd lying in a touchscreen which I am supposed to be fixing for my father. I don't think the internal graphics card on the touch screen can handle it. I know my iMac can. Will it fit?

If it a DV and has FireWire, it can. The graphix card will do it
also, the drive in the imac G3's are laptop drives. Any laptop drive will work (the essential unit of a laptop drive.) you can even use an iBook or PowerBook laptop drive from G3 and up
im pretty sure 250 is not DV and so its very unlikely this could handle it. mine cant play many vcds properly

2) 350s play DVDs beautifully. I have a Blueberry 350 w/DVD drive sitting around and watching DVDs on it is even nicer than on the real DVD player and TV.

Even a 350 w/o FW should play a DVD fine. I'd be sure if I could drop the $24.99 for that Masushita SR-8185 I found in some shops parts bin...
