Dead LC 475

Okay,
I hava an LC 475. This machine booted fine about a two weeks ago. Last night, I removed the IIe card and put in an LC Network card. When powered on, the machine gives the happy boot chime, does some hard drive activity (might just be the platters spinning, but there is some reading action sounds), and does not do anything. The screen stays black, connections are all good. For some reason, I cannot get past the chime on this. I removed the network card and retried (without the IIe card) and nothing changed.

I had hoped to give this machine to my kids since it was already loaded with educational apps. What can I try to diagnose this?

TIA

Jon

No video right? Try a quick

No video right? Try a quick off-on after it's been on a few seconds. You might have a dead PRAM battery.

Fixed!

I took the battery out of the IIsi and put it in the LC and it booted. The funny thing is that it still sat for about 5 minutes with the flashing "?" until it decided to boot of the internal SCSI.

Not sure what that is all about.

Thanks!

GOSH!

You really think you should spoil your kids like that?

spoil?

...heck, I lost my Bondi iMac (my baby) to the older two. Since then I have ben left to my 68k collection/hoard. If I ever want to get my iMac back, I need to swap them out to something that will support the educational games they use (although some require at least 8.1 and I will not give them my G3 upgraded PM 8600! ).

Since they fight over the machine, I need to add a second so they can take turns on some games at least.
