I have been running my Peecee Box for about 4 months with a burnt smell coming out of it. I have known for a while that the fan inside the PSU had quite working before I was smelling this, so I just dismissed as I was (a)too lazy to do anything about it, and (b) too cheap to do anything.
I originally thought that the smell was b/c there was no fan to cool it. Well, I was wrong.
I opened the PSU tonight and was thinking of replacing the fan, only to find that one section of the board blew up and covered the other half. Hmmm, It has been working with half of the PSU missing and there was no power drops. Weird. Anyway, to make a long story short, I went ahead and ordered another PSU off of NewEgg.com for a whopping $19 for a 400 Watt'r It should be here in 3 days (or 4) Oh, and it has free shipping. If you are in need of one, look on newegg for the 301-400 Watt RoseWill PSU

Weird PSU Blow-up's
Argh, get a decent psu and take the rating on those cheap POS's with a pinch of salt.
yea those cheap psu's never hardly put out the watt's they say theare doing
be carfull with new egg there really not the best out there, my friend mike kept getting bad ram and cpus from them.
Not to rant, but I got a bad video card from them, and a bad time when I called them,
I got a RoseWill video card. But it was damaged in shipping. It was replaced really easy by them and I was satisfied. Also, I don't have the money to get a regular one. Once I get the $ to spend extra on the PSU, I will get a good one.
i have bought a video card from them and it works fine.. my friends have bought alot of other things too, never had a problem.... its all in the luck of the draw! lol i own both mac and pc so i shop for both all the time..
Works great. There was a billing snafu with my bank (They didn't process it the first time) so I had to get a different one. The new one is a 400Watt PowerKing PSU. It's nice not to have my room smell like burnt electronics now.
I will have to say this about NewEgg, They have pretty cheap and fast shipping. I just didn't want to spend $50 in store for a cheapass PSU on their shelve, If I can get a cheaper PSU on NewEgg with the same specs and same quality :P. The original PSU was sh!t anyway, I just found out, the same thing happened to a friend that got the same case as I did. Do I detect a faulty line?
My fan went out on it about 1 week after I got it (the case and PSU) but was not able to take it back before the in-store warranty was over. I'm glad I did something about it. That's a fire hazard...
speaking of crappy parts and PSU's, my new one just went out yesterday. I am lucky that it is still under warranty. haha, and it only had 3 days left on the grace period. I have already called newegg.com and have sent it in and am getting a refund.
