Linux. On my brother's Xbox.

Finally.
It cost me three days, sixty Canadian dollars, a few hundred expletives, four bicycle trips, six car trips, one perfectly good warranty from microsoft, a few ounces of sanity and around eight hours of sleep.

However, I now have an Xbox that runs a modified version of Debian linux.

Hopefully, I can post the next post of this thread on said xbox, when I get it online.

Six G5s in an XboxII, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum.

Just saw an article claiming the XBoxII will have THREE DUAL CORE G5s onboard...Wait till the mod vultures descend on that puppy.

First post on the 'box

Whee! Finally got the network all figured out. So, not only is this my first post from my brother's Xbox, it's also my first post from my basement and the first post I made while reclined on a tacky '80s couch.
Since I don't have a USB hub , or USB mouse for that matter, yet, I've been forced to use one of the controllers as a mouse. Not fun.
Not to mention the video; it's an NTSC TV.Not without pain.
Anywho, in response to the other replys:
1. I know MS doesen't like people doing this, and it's part of the reason I did it. :ebc:
2. it is a fact, not a rumor, that the second Xbox will have a G5. Three dual-core G5s, however, might be a bit of a stretch. Wink

There's a good article about this on Tom's hardware:
