BeigeG3 Desktop + AV personality card

Hello!
I have had a beige G3 I have been upgrading bit by bit. Having some issues with the personality card. . .here are the secs thus far:

Beige G3 (dunno mb rev.#)
Rev.B Rom
384 mb RAM
ATI mach64 6mb ram
6GB IDE HDD
AV Personality card (w/ s-video io, rca io, mic, speakers)
OS 8.6. . .fresh instal

I have the Video Startup extension installed. When I start the apple video player, I only get the option to search for movies. I do not have any other AV options. Am I being dumb? The card has been reseated and is placed well into the slot.

I had an instal of os 9.2.1, but I then found out that it does not support the Apple Video Player, so I decided to get another HDD and instal 8.6. . .so I did.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is ther eanything else I need to instal to make this work? Does the fact that I have a PCI vid card have anything to do with the issue?

Any help wouls be aqppreciated! Thanks. . .

same. . .

just connected a b&w connectix quickcam to the modem serial port and I get a display screen and some more buttons, including the input switcher. When I go to s-video it says "your computer does not support s-video input"

My G3

I've got one of those g3/AV setups and I can't remember how many times I need to reinstall various versions of the Mac OS. If you can I'd wipe the drive and do a reinstall of 9 then update it as high as you can. I think thats what it took in the end. Secondly, get BTV it beats AVP hands down.

Edit: No the video card shouldn't have any effect. I've always had a second monitor on my system and it never caused any problems. OTOH theres some Apple Doc floating around that suggests you run the capture window in the bottom lefthand corner of the monitor running off of onboard video for some odd reason.

What operating system are you

What operating system are you running? I thought for some reason the AV card was not supported in later versions of the OS. The highest OS I have is 9.2.1. . .will the Personality card have full functionality through this os?

I have not found much documantation on this which tells me that these cards either must work pretty well and just instal without incident, or they never worked at all. . .

but since you have it set up. . .they must work. . .

Last night I tested something. . .all I got to work on the AV card was the mic-in and speaker-out 1/8" jacks . . .so it sort of works. . .but it is the Video stuff I want to use. . .

I will download BTV as it looks very interesting. . .thanks!

btw. . .what is the OS you are running and is the personality card fully functional under this os?

just put in a drive, formated it, and put OS 9.2.1. . .still nothing. Downloaded BTV pro, but I get an error saying that my video input driver is not loaded.
