Mod Failure - Analog Board Repair / Replacement?

I have finished the analog board mods as listed by Chris Lawson and the Japanese guy (I forget his name).

I guess I have failed, because all I get is black on startup. I probably cut a micron-wide wire on the AB somewhere trying to get at those microscopic connections to 20 and 25 and ruined the board. Sure wish I had not done this modification, because I knew something would happen.

Can anyone suggest what I can do now? Is there a way to test the AB to see if it is still functioning? Can it be repaired? If not, is my CC worth repairing, or can I purchase another AB somewhere and install that (and from here on try no other modifications)?

Thanks

Keep checking!

I answered your email, but I'll share it here, too for others who may end up in this situation:

When I built my Takky, I must have had to go over all the mods I'd made five or six times before I got all the loose connections seated properly. It didn't help that the wire I used was single-strand and too thin (since re-done).

It'll be a pain in the butt, but go over every change you've made again and again, with special attention paid to the video lines, and of course, the power lines. Try doing the sense lines over again.

If you've killed it, you've got nothing to lose, but I doubt it's actually dead. First time I tried powering mine up and got nothing, I had to face that horrible sinking feeling, but then it was time to get back to work.

Worst case, try splicing the cuts you've made in the sense lines and see if you can return the board to a lower resulotion. If that works, then you know you just need to re-do the sense line mod and check that the cuts you made are completely through the traces.

Wire width?

I used the red and white wires that are inside a CD-ROM audio connector (the one used to hook up the audio from a CD to a Mac logic board. Are those too thin?

Good news!

FWIW, it's quite hard (but not impossible) to kill an a/b.
