If the display goes to sleep or I sleep the laptop, my backlight won't come back on.
I didn't used to have this problem, but it happened once after I zapped the PRAM. I'm running 10.2.8 (no classic or dual-boot). I tried messing with all the settings and the only way to keep it from happening is to tell the display to never go to sleep, and to always shut the laptop completely off and never suspend it.
Is there something I can do in Openfirmware, or booting off an os9 install CD to keep this from happening? It's driving me nuts.
Thnx in advance,

ISTR that booting into OS 9 can fix backlight issues on the Wallstreets. I don't know how persistant it is with sleep problems, but if you have to shut down to get the backlight to come back on, rebooting into OS 9 is just as bad. You might try looking for some OF NVRAM patches that might help solve some issues. I have no idea what or where they'd be, but the OF pages over at www.netbsd.org/Ports/macppc should have some info.
the backlight issue is common with wallstreets. mine did it with 10.1. i've heard that updating the version works, but i think that only applied to 10.1.x. i'd reccomend the os 9 trick. i've since switched back to os 9.
