it depends on what you want

Buying a Newton really depends on what you want/need. If you are looking for a PDA/organizer, go for it. If you are looking for a second computer, look deeper and be specific about what you want/need in order to choose the right tool for the job.

That being said, the general rule of thumb with MP 2000s is to get the 21000 or an upgraded 2000. One important thing to note is that the WiFi drivers can no longer be registered since the author has closed his site to buying the product code keys. All this really means is that you cannot use WEP, but the many argue that you do not need WEP (just as many argue that you do). You can still download the WiFi drivers and I strongly suggest you search the archives at newtontalk to read up on them.

I swear by my Newtons (2100, 130, 100, and the eMate), but I only really use them for PDA stuff. I tried to web surf with my 2100 over WiFi, but it just was not for me.
