How come Tiger won't calculate my battery time remaining?

This probably belongs in Kiwi, but for some reason Tiger (10.4.6) won't calculate the battery time remaining, but it did it in Panther and Jaguar. Any suggestions?

Pismo?

I'm willing to bet you have a pismo, there is a flaw in the power management which causes it not calculate on tiger, it works fine on panther however. I think it affects some early G4 powerbooks too

Have you also tried letting it do a full charge/run down cycle on the battery? (Not a full BatteryAmnesia style cycle, just a normal dischage cycle) I've read that that can help the machine calibrate the power vs. time better. Give it a full charge, then let it run at full power until it sleeps due to low power on it's own. Then plug it in and give it a full chage and go about your usual ways. Some people recommend doing that about once a month.
