iBook G4, 1Ghz - Periodically Freezes

...and was wondering if anyone might help me figure out what the heck is wrong with my iBook G4 1Ghz. So it essentially boots fine, runs for about 10 minutes then locks up to whatever you had on the screen. I then have to powerdown, wait a few minutes, then power back up and it works for about 10 minutes again.

So I tried:
1) Resetting the NVRAM and PRAM to no avail
2) removed the 256 RAM that was put in after market, still the problem persists

I did a little exploritory surgery hoping to see that the screws holding the logicboard had worked loose and just needed tightened and instead found that the previous owner had also done some exploritory surgery and actually stripped the left bolt/spring on the heat sink and then the smaller bolt and bracket on the same side of the heat sink (closer to the HD) had been broken. Everything else looked to be in order.

Even though the heatsink has some issues with bolts, I do not believe that is the problem at hand.

So I am thinking about trying:
1) replacing the HD
2) replacing the RAM

or could it be one of the following?
1) the ever popular logicboard issue (but my video is working flawlessly)
2) bad soldered-on RAM
3) just my bad luck

Thanks for any insight.

Well, I think I fixed it! It was the HD. Replaced it with a nice 80GB and it works PERFECTLY! I will keep you updated! Thanks for all your help!
