nOObie questions: mouse and ethernet and ISA

1. mouse: the DB9 apple II mouse is not compatible with a
"generic" DB9 mouse? does it need an adapter?
2. is the ISA slots compatible with a generic ISA card, so that its just a ____ question of drivers to make any ISA card work?
3. follow up to question 2 - are there any drivers for common ISA ethernet
____ cards like the 3c509 or the NE2000 ?

thx, capybara Smile

Re: nOObie questions: mouse and ethernet and ISA

I've not tried one, but it's unlikely to be compatible. I see old Apple DB9 mice on eBay regularly.
2. is the ISA slots compatible with a generic ISA card,

They aren't ISA slots. They are specific to the Apple II line.
3. follow up to question 2 - are there any drivers for common ISA ethernet cards like the 3c509 or the NE2000 ?

No, not at all. Neither the cards nor the software would run on an Apple II.

The Apple II slot predates IS

The Apple II slot predates ISA by about 4 to 5 years.

Considering how simple 8 bit

Considering how simple 8 bit ISA is one wonders if an adapter could be hacked up. I mean you can use ISA cards with PICs and other microcontrollers
