Some feedback please. I have an Apple IIe system in excellent condition, complete with monitor, dual disk drive, original software and manuals. It boots right up and runs ProDos and Appleworks fine. See additional info at http://apple-iie.blogspot.com/.
Is this package worth trying to sell or should I just dump it? If selling is an option, any ideas on worth? Any comments will be appreciated as I am trying to decide what to do with it.
System consists of the following:
* Apple IIe (enhanced) CPU & keyboard w/ cables, model A2S2064
* Apple green phosphor monitor w/ cables, model A2M2010
* Apple DuoDisk drive w/ cable, Model A9M0108
* Parallel Printer cable
* All original software including:
** Appleworks disks
** Appleworks 2 Expander disk
** Super Appleworks Desktop Expander disk
** ProDos User disk
** Copy II Plus disk
** Print Shop disk
** Beagle Brothers GPLE disk
** Infocom Zork I game disk
** blank 143K floppy disks
* All original manuals in good condition
Thanks, Al (Lafayette LA)
Nice complete system! Good selection of software, too.
I'd hang on to it if I were you, but you can try your
luck on e**y and see what it'll bring. There are a lot
of these systems and parts on e**y so you are catering
to a big market out there. Just remember that it is an
old system even though it's in great shape. It has more
value as a collectible.
Thanks for your advice. But I am not a collector and have decided to try to find a new home for it. I was hoping to get an idea of what it might sell for.
Al
Well, it really only has value to a collector. If you can find one to sell to, you could probably get a hundred bucks for it on your friendly neighborhood nationwide auction site. The original software is a nice addition: it would differentiate your otherwise very common IIe from competitors on that same auction site. On the other hand: shipping heavy stuff like monitors often costs more than what the darned thing is worth in the first place, making cross-country sales impractical.
Thanks again. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hey,
Please don't "just dump it." Someone would love it whether they're collectors or not. You may not make any money but dumping it would be [select your choice: a sin, bad karma, unethical, adding to techo pollution, poor taste, or retrocidal].

Point well taken. No...I will try to find it a good home.

If I could get my dad to go to stop by Louisiana (hes a trucker), do you think I could have it?
I appreciate your offer...but I have found a buyer for the system. If it doesn't work out, I'll get back in touch with you. Regards, Al
Well, thank you. I'm glad you found it a good home, and got some cash as well
