B&W G3 motherboard

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how bad it is to put a Rev 2 motherboard in a Rev 1 case? is this just a job for a phillips head and a anti-static strap or is it more complicated?

Here.
Short answer is yes, it's an easy swap.

same same

The rev. 1, rev. 2 B&W's and the G4 Yikes! all basically had the same motherboard with identical screw placements. I just put a rev. 2 B&W motherboard in a Yikes! case, and the backplates on those models easily screw off, so I replaced the Yikes! backplate with the B&W backplate and everything aligned perfectly, and if no one knew better, they'd think I have a very strange G4 because it has ADB. I still use the ADB keyboards. I much prefer black letters on white keys, and I like the power button too, which the new white keyboards don't have. Yes, I still do turn off my computers. With the only computer I don't turn off as much--a DA G4 hooked up to an LCD monitor--I use the Macally Icekey USB Slim keyboard, which I love.

The only difference with the rev. 1 case is that one big harddrives bracket--an idea that could have easily been thought out better in initial design. That's the only thing that finally came to mind with the case.

umm...

while I'm on this subject, does anyone know of a decent place to find the right kind of jumpers for overclocking this board. I went to radio shack to get the parts and I was unable to find the 276-1612a jumpers and the 276-1512 were way larger than the jumper block I had. anyone have any good ideas for me?

a tidy profit

the eBay jumpers guy

Everytime I trash a SCSI harddrive, I make sure to save its jumpers. Are you upclocking? With a fine tipped point it is possible to remove the jumpers from the old jumper block.
