Power Mac G3 aio RCA input.

I'm using a trial edition of BTV pro to capture the video coming in through the RCA ports on my Macintosh. Is there another program I can use instead of BTV? And why can't I run BTV when my screen is set to 32 bit color? If you have info, please tell me. Thank you.

whoa!

You have an AIO Wings card?!?!

Man, i was trying to look for that a loooonnnggg time ago and couldn't find one! Oh well, I no longer have the machine so it doesn't matter...

If you tried Linux on it, I think someone made a video capture thing that allows you to use the inputs on it. are you under OS 9 or 10?

OS 9

I have Mac OS 9 right now, I'm receiving Mac OS 10.2 from a relative soon. I found the card off ebay. The old mac milt was selling it as a Buy it now.

Be aware....

Be aware, the video inputs / outputs will not function under OS X.

Oh, and coius, WINGS cards are relatively easy to find. I got mine for $15 shipped off of ebay, just a couple of years ago.

ATI Xclaim

The ATI Xclaim TV tuner box has RCA (Composite) input ports. It hooks up to the Wings card via S-video, but the S-video cable is a special S-video cable made for the TV tuner box. With the tuner box you can use ATI's Xclaim Video Player software which is pretty decent and input any kind of AV into OS 9, but the capture resolutions aren't too high, IIRC. The software is included in the ATI Universal installer 4.2. But if you buy the tuner box, make sure it comes with its S-video cable. A regular S-video cable will not work. Here's an eBay auction with the complete set including the PCI card ATI also made--but the tuner box will hook up directly to the Wings card and work without the PCI card. I've got a set like this I was going to put up for auction soon also. If you do a search for "Xclaim" in "Computers and Networking" they come up pretty regularly.

Do you have other complaints about BTV Pro besides the 32 bit thing? There's also HackTV.

How do you figure?

I count seven on eBay right now, and I only count 4 non-AIO cards. In fact, my experience has always been that the AIO cards are MUCH more common than the non-AIO cards.

Apple Video Player will capture video as will Adobe Premiere.

Watch out for the ATI Xclaim TV pod. You need the purple TV pod that works with the ATI Xclaim VR Pro, not the plain vanilla (and beige colored) VR pod. Trust me on this one. I've got both an ATI Xclaim VR and TV tuner and an ATI Xclaim Pro TV tuner. Only the purple one works with the G3's on-board video fully. The beige one will produce snow, and IIRC, the TV tuner won't function. Here is an example of what not to buy.
Peace,
Drew
