Mac Plus

Hi, is it important for the RAM battery to be in place for the plus to work fully functional. The problem is that there is no battery available to replace the old one that had carroded inside. Cheers, Ste.

Don't know . . .

Hey,

At one point I was going to put together a list of Macs that would or wouldn't start without a pram battery but never got around to it. Don't know -- off the top of my head -- about the Plus. The question here is, is it starting now?

No, it isn't, but, after taking it apart last night I discovered an internal fuse that had blown. So I'm going to replace it to see if that is the cause, I'll let you know, Cheers, Steve.

Plus PRAM battery NOT needed

Seems like I could never keep Pluses in batteries but they always booted anyhow, albeit with reset time 'n' date. Just FYI, this also goes for 128K & 512K, as well as SE and SE/30.
