This looks very much like the kind of screen corruption folks with Aluminum iMacs had under 10.5.0.
Are you running the latest version of Leopard (10.5.2)?
If not, try updating. If so, then it might be an issue with your VRAM, your video card, or overheating.

Might just be incompatible with leopard. It works when i reboot, so i guess it's not a permanent problem.
Maybe you just have way too many icons in your dock
(just joking, but really, how can you stand to have that many?)
WHY DO YOU CARE HOW MANY ICONS ARE IN MY DOCK?
(just kidding!) ummm.... well, i use almost all of the programs... but my dad's dock has so much stuff it has to be at the smallest. But i will admit, im kind of a neat freak. I kind of organized my dock by app category. Im a freaking nerd!
Has this been hacking onto a 700/800Mhz eMac? I had this problem when I got 10.5 onto my 700Mhz eMac. I don't remember how I fixed it though...
yes, the hack was used. The LeopardAssist app. But it didn't happen until now. (800MHz eMac 512MB RAM)
