Just added a second 3.5" drive to the gs. It's daisychained gs to 3.5 drive to 3.5 drive to 5 1/4 drive. ADTPro recognizes all the drives but when I try and format a floppy in the 2nd 3.5 drive. it comes back as 280 blocks, not 1600. I've reformated the disk but no change. Remove the 2nd 3.5 drive and all is well. And, the previously formatted disks now report 1600 blocks. Ideas ?
Transferring disk images, dsk, po, 2mg, to floppy's, no problems. But, how do I transfer files, not images, to the CF hard drive ?
Can't imagine what it was like trying to do this without ADTPro, excellent program. Thank you.
The problem is they're both named "BLANK." Name one something different when formatting and you'll see the correct numbers. ProDOS isn't supposed to allow you to have two volumes with the same name, but if you do the formatting, I don't check if there's already a volume with that same name in the system. I suppose I should.
You use a different program - a file transfer program. Back in the day, there were communications programs that would do basic file transfer. Sometimes I just pass files back and forth on the RAM drive... it doesn't take too long to transfer 127 blocks.
Everyone used other excellent programs - or swapped physical floppy disks.
David, thanks for the response. All is working properly.
