While trying to transfer Infocom's Lurking Horror or Wings of Fury (around 140K each) my ADTpro gives me the message (FILE/DISK IMAGE mismatch copy anyway?)
When I try to copy it freezes at block 170 or so.
Any suggestions?

If it's not _exactly_ 140k (143,360 bytes) then you're going to get that complaint. Where did you get the images from?
I will check the exact file size today and revert back
I got lurking_horror from

After unzipping the 100K file into 140K I changed the name from "lurking_horror" to "lurkinghorror" because I could not find the "_" key on my Apple II non-plus
I got wings of fury1 from

Ditto unzipping as above, and name change
The Stellar 7 and Castle Wolfie were downloaded from the same site as above but as .DSK and hence did not need to be unzipped. There was no name change as well. Both these images worked fine on ADTPro without any freezing and are now bootable 5.25 floppies.

wingsoffury1 is 82KB
Both these files were downloaded as a 100KB and 82KB zipped file and following an "unzip" gave me a file of the same size. Am I doing something wrong in the unzip step? Should these files have "expanded" from 100KB to 140KB and so on...?
I am using WinZip Pro. I am a PC newbie so could be doing something silly.
Yes, and yes. An unzip operation should have resulted in 140k files. But note these are "gzipped" files; note the ".gz" suffix. I imagine a tool like WinZipPro would know how to handle them, but I don't know for sure.
