Using Pico Bluetooth Card w. Newton/eMate

40hz.org tells me that the "Blunt" bluetooth driver for the Newton OS should work with Pico PCMCIA Cards as well. Just got hold of a few cheap cards at eBay and found the following discription from the Manufacturer: http://www.sphinx-electronics.de/deutsch/bluetooth/picocard_tech.htm
Well it's german but specs are always the same, hope you don't mind. Did anybody ever work with these cards and/or knows more about this? Won't harm my dear Newton-babes by crashing them with the wrong cards... Beee
At least they seem to have the right fomat (Type II) but anything else..well..

Just got hold of a Pico Bluet

Just got hold of a Pico Bluetooth card lately and tested the whole thing with my eMate 300. It works really well, i can now send and receive data from my G4 Quicksilver to the eMate and the other way around...just cool.
Does anybody know where to get AmbiCom or Tayo Bluetooth cards? I'd like to put my experiences together on a seperate site on my homepage soon and want to give people a good overview about card-types, recent problems etc. Would be cool Dirol

Hey, thanks! I'm getting an eMate soon, and there aren't any 802.11 cards that will work with the newt, so I guess BT is the only option for wireless. The only problem is that Bluetooth APs cost an arm and a leg. If I can find a way to bridge an ethernet/802.11b connection to bluetooth, I'll be a happy guy.
I'll be even happier if I can find a used bluetooth AP under $25 ::)

Hmm...

I'm pretty sure there are 802.11b cards that will work with Newton 2x00s and the eMate.

Well there are possibilities

Well there are possibilities using AirPort with your Newton device! Just try the following link from the newton talk.net, maybe this'll help: http://www.newtontalk.net/archive/newtontalk.2002-01/2109.html

As for the Bluetooth cards: The Pico card is really cheap, that's why i wanted to get one of these. AmbiCom and other cards are quite expensive (about 70$ if i'm right). There are always a few Pico cards on eBay Germany and some sellers also ship overseas... It's a tiny little thing so postage shouldn't be too expensive...
