5500/6500 logic boards . . .

plug right in. Either'd be a pretty snappy upgrade IMHO. You could even add a G3 L2 card (up to 500mHz!), but then you'd need a different power supply (one from a 6360 would work IIRC.)

Other options include LBs from 5200/6200/5300/6300 series. However, these serie are much less desirable than the 55/6500 LBs, slower by an order of magnatude. AFAIK, the 5400/6400 LBs won't work without a power supply change (to a 6360 PS), though I'm not positive.

The Daystar PowerCard 601 processor upgrade would work with the original LB, but are very scarce and pretty slow, esp compared with a faster 55/6500 board.

Any my Q630 and two spare 630 boards arrived in the mail the other day... La de da!!! I love those cute little Quadras, and the PPC board is fun. But I do agree - a 5500/6500 board would be MUCH MUCH faster.

Peace,
Drew

5260?

Would the above power supply problem also apply to a 6400 mobo in a 5260, or is the PS in that similar to a 6360?
