Apple //c Versus Apple //c+ 15pin Video output

Was there any difference between the complex video output port of the //c and the //c+? According to Wikipedia, the //c's video output port was incomplete, and couldn't send a signal (for example to an RGB monitor). Was it changed/fixed/improved no the //c+? Has anyone tried using higher quality monitors with it?

According to this: http://apple2history.org/history/ah09/ maybe.

There is no mention of improved graphics modes specifically, the //c+ did have the zip chip accelerator, which according to the link,

(The Zip Chip “cache” was a piece of RAM memory used to hold copies of system memory that the processor was frequently accessing. For instance, if a lot of graphics manipulation was being done, the caching RAM would hold a copy of part of the graphics RAM, and could access it much faster than the standard RAM. This was part of what made an after-market accelerator work).

It actually doesn't look like the //c+ didn't use the zip chip, but did have the 4mhz CPU and the RAM cache.

I have always wondered this myself, when I was considering whether to get a //c or a //c+. Eventually I ended up with a old //c, and it works great, but I only ever have it hooked to the little Apple CRT it came with, which just hooks up over composite.

Maybe someone else with more knowledge on the matter can chime in.

I've connected both the //c LCD panel and the VideoSeven RGB adapter to my //c+ and they work as expected. I don't believe there is any difference between the //c and //c+ video signals.

By chance, would you have a link for where we could obtain a VideoSeven RGB adapter?

Really don't like the color composite output - reminds me too much of the composite output on my old Timex Sinclair 2068, which is just awful.
