Problems with Apple II E clone

I have one Pravetz 8C (Bulgarian clone of Apple II e) and I am having some problems with it.When I turn it on it displays a sign "Pravetz" and freezes. No prompt no nothing. The keyboard is working, when I press Caps Lock the LED lights up.I have only the computer - no floppy.Does it works without floppy?Any sujestions?

Try pressing Reset or Apple-R

Try pressing Reset or Apple-Reset to drop into BASIC.

No ,this doesn't help.It does

No ,this doesn't help.It doesn't respond.Could it be something wrong on the motherboard. It has two jumpers on it.The one is just by the floppy controller (it's integrated) and the second over the character generator rom.The motherboard looks very dusty. It is using the bulgarian clone of 6502 - CM630.This is all I can tell.I can upload some pictures ,but my camera is a nightmare and I don't think that you'll see much of them.

I still think it works. If y

I still think it works. If you can't get it into BASIC, next step is to find a bootable floppy disk (which is most disks for the Apple II).

Floppy Disk Drives

You can probably use any Apple Disk II Drive
from the Apple II series of computers. Even
though yours is a clone, most clones were/are
almost straight copies of Apples including the
hardware. Try that. Hope this helps.

Try the "clone site"

Try going to the "Apple II Clones" site. He may
be able to help you. His web address is...

Hope this is helpful.

Hi, again.You would never gue

Hi, again. You would never gues what happened.I went to one local retrocomputing club, to ask for help.I found nobody there ,but one woman from the staff told me that the teacher is on holyday and she isn't going to return before 20th of september because the new students are coming then (here the school year starts on 15th september).

So I went home , hooked the Pravetz to my TV ,and decided to play a bit with it.After watching the sign "Pravetz" glowing on the screen, for about 15 minutes I was going to turn it off and put it back in the drawer of my bed. Then my cousin came to play Diablo II on my PC and he said that I should press Control , Alt and Dell. I laughed at him for about 10 minutes. Then looked the keyboard and then I pressed Ctrl , Shift and Reset .It beeped and a prompt appeared. However it still is not working normall.I can't enter anything. When I press a key nothing appears on the screen.Only the cursor is there blinking alone. When I press Ctrl Shift and Reset again it beeps again and a new prompt appears under the old one.

I found some other combinatio

I found some other combinations. The prompt appers even when I press Ctrl and Reset without the Shift. So here are they :
- Ctrl + Reset : Beeps and ] appears ,
- Ctrl + F1 + Reset : When the ] is on the screen it beeps again and return the "Pravetz" sign ,
- Ctrl + F2 + Reset : No mather when I press it one * appears and a blinking cursor -
However I still can't enter anything from the keyboard.

Well, I started with it ,and

Well, I started with it ,and I just had to finish.
I dissassembled it and You just won't believe what I saw. It looke like someone had tried to desolder the keyboard cable from the keyboard's PCB. It was so ugly. However I resoldered it and now the keyboard works totally. When I press Ctrl and Reset I can write programs and run them.
Thank you all.
