GSOS 6.0.3 Bugs anyone?

Anybody experience any anomolies with GSOS 6.0.3?

It would seem .dsk images that I could write fine before with Asimov or DiskMaker? On top of that I can get exactly 1 image made with DiskMaker then then the 5.25 drives aren't recognized anymore. AND I can get exactly 1 image made with Asimov, upon attempting the second the GS bombs with a "Fatal System error." SCSI devices in use or not seems to make no difference.

Anyone?

Anyone know who to report bugs to?

(Hardware: ROM1 GS, 1.25mb ram on Apple Card, Apple SCSI revC clone, Microdrive, Uthernet II, 2x3.5 drives, 2x5.25 Drives, 1xAppleCD150)

Hi, I'm running 6.0.3 and have not had a problem writing 3.5" disk images. I just completed writing 7 images with Asimov, no issue. Have you ran a memory test and system diagnostic test? I will try some 5.25" images tonight.

Ran self-test, Diagnostics 3.0...

Images I had written before are borking... That was before adding the Uthernet and the latest batch of 20 year old 5.25 media though Smile

Also started burning CDs in High Sierra (instead of HFS).

So... Gosh, golly, Geez. Wink

I wrote some 5.25 media this morning, with no anomalies. I'm running a ROM1 with a 4MegGS (Briel), CFFA3000, and Uthernet II. I have 2x3.5" drives and one 5.25" drive. I would try removing all hardware, booting up from a floppy, and see if the problem persist. Good luck, and I hope you find a solution!

Thx man. Maybe a noob situation here.

I have found that a few of my images come out right but something is "sticking" in the ram that no soft reboot will deal with (or 'clear' from the prompt)... I'm talking a good ol' fashioned 60sec cold reboot... and probably a few bad images as well.

Prob try a different ram card.

If your SCSI devices are configured via their switches/jumpers to provide a termination power to the SCSI bus (this is not necessary with the SCSI card you have since it provides power, too) and if they are still powered while you try to cold restart your Apple //GS then some of the power from the SCSI bus still feeds partially the //GS chipset and it cannot be completely reset.
