Apple Keyboard cutout

I'm working on a case design and a keyboard design, and am wondering if anyone has a tested, known good pattern for the apple II/II+ keyboard cutout. A standard format like DXF would be great.

Why wouldn’t you just take an

Why wouldn’t you just take an Apple II case and create a router jig from it. That’s what I did so now I have a router jug that I can use to make an Apple II keyboard cut out in just about anything.

First, because I didn't have

First, because I didn't have an Apple II or a case at the time I asked the question (but I just got one today). And second, because I want to create a design that can be used for CNC, and can be shared, reproduced, and re-purposed.

I have made some measurements from the keyboard and case today, though. Once I have tested and proven the cutout, I will post it.

Apple II/II+ keyboard cutout

Here's my first cut at an Apple 2 keyboard cutout. Tested in cardstock. Feedback would be welcome.

test

I had a chance to test the cutout on the laser at the makerspace, made a couple of adjustments to open up the power button cutout and make a little more room around the return key. I updated the zip file.

Looks great!

That looks really great! Can you share any pictures of the case you are designing?

Designs are coming soon.

I'm working on a family of retrocomputer cases and a universal keyboard. A case prototype is in This other thread.

Variants include cutouts for Apple II, OSI, and Franklin/Keytronics keyboards, and an ADM-3A style keyboard; narrower width for narrower boards such as the OSI Superboard II; and an open design to display the main board, similar to this thread. Also, I am working on a "slab" design with a flat top. The idea is that they all will be guaranteed to go together right, and will be easy to make either by CNC or by hand. All designs will be available as Vcarve and DXF.
