It looks like CC65's assembler supports the '816, but the C compiler does not? Hmm.
Anyone ever mess with this?
Are there any other //gs cross compilers out there? Doesn't look like WDCTools can target the IIgs. Most of the '816 stuff I am finding is for the SNES.
I don't think I'm smart enough to patch cc65's compiler to emit proper '816 asm...
The ORCA/M Suite seems to be the prefered development platform for the ][gs.
And the Most Complete..

If only I had a modern Mac. ;P
(I quit them when I went to the apple dealer to try to get a G4 card for my 8500/120, to replace the G3 that was in it, and they mocked me and tried to sell me an Intel Mac. I was running Linux on the PowerMac anyway, so I told them that if really must use an Intel Linux box, I'd just go buy a PC. So I did.)
Anyway, I ended up buying a copy of Orca/C for the //gs. I think I can rig up an Eclipse build target that fires up GSport and makes it compile on a filesystem accessed over an emulated AppleTalk network, then shut down, but I haven't gotten 'round to it yet.
Look into the GoldenGate additions for the ORCA Tools:
