Powerbook 165c screen replacement/modern replacement?

I just got a Powerbook 165c with the bad screen issue  - looks like somebody scratched the screen in lines, and the film is peeling, with a strong smell. Of course it doesn't tuen on.Is there any replacement part that can be easily acquired? Any idea on replacing it with a modern LCD screen?

Thank in advance.

Javster.

cheaper and easier to replace the rotten film - vinegar syndrome

It's the socalled vinegar syndrome that affects the plastic film/polarizer. The film can be easily removed, so that only the glass remains. Remove the glue residues with isopropyl alcohol. Then I bought off Aliexpress some polarizer films. As soon I get them will show here the procedure.

In the meanwhile look for vinegar syndrome on youtube: there's a good video by a Japanese engineer.
