Startup Issue

Hey

I been trying to fix this issue I have. I am new to this Apple IIe and I am unsure how it should boots up.

So without any cards in the slot I turn it on and the selftest starts. It take quit a while to get to kenel OK screen, it looks like the test just restarting.

When I press the Control and reset buttons the selftest will start again. I can keep pressing the control and Reset and system will stop and send me to the prompt so I can type in a program.

I do have the the 80col/64K memory expansion, and when this is in the aux slot, when the system is turned on there is no selftest but go directly to the prompt so I can type. I can access the 80 col card and put the system to 80 colums and I can use the (ESC) to control the fuctions of the board.

But if I plug in the floppy card power up it will selftest and it takes along time to get to kenel ok. But the floppy never work. The drive never turns on.

I changed the 74LS154, 74LS138, and the 74LS251. But still the same.

I was wondering is any of you seen this issue before and would know the fix.
