I am looking for a way to get a Vimage G3 L2 Processor card to work in a PCC Powerbase Clone. The problem I am having is that the Video card is not compatible with the L2 card. I would like to use the upgrade without having to install a Video card in it that is so hard to find and is compatible with it. Plus the cards run about $60 USD . More than the machine is worth. I am also looking for any information I can about the Powerbase and the history about PowerComputing company I can get. Any Suggestions would be helpfull. Thx.

Are you saying that the 'built-in' video is not working with your upgrade? If you have to get a pci video card to use with it. I remember the ixMicro cards as being relatively good 2D peformers.
I did do a search and found something along this line on Xlr8yourmac. It was talking about a 6500 but the Powerbase was based on the 6400; so, close enough. Apparently disabling the 'ATI Extension' might help. Of course, I remember having to get an extension called 'PCI Timing Update' for my Powerbase at one time. This might help you as well.

What happens is that the video turns off on the restart after the drivers for the Vimage are loaded. and it stays off. The guy I bought the L2 Upgrade from insists that it is my machine. And it probably is but for some reason he told me to "get a new video card" . He also said that it worked in a PCC PBase. I am wondering if he isn't telling me something like, he has a compatable Video Card. I also remember seeing something about compatible Vid cards. I know the PBase Stock video . An ATI Mach 64 was as far as compatibilty was unkown. BTW Thanks for the Site Pointer
