Newbie here saying “Hi”

Hey everyone. I just posted a question but realized I forgot to introduce myself.

I grew up with Apple IIe's in grade school but never owned one. I always wanted one as a kid and now I have an enhanced IIe! I'm new to all this, so I probably have lots of silly questions, but I'm looking forward to learning lots and making some new friends.

Welcome to the group!

Welcome.

Ask the silly questions. Most of us started here the same way. (I certainly did, and it wasn't that long ago).

The Apple IIe enhanced is definitely one of the best Apples to start with. I started with a Europlus and oh boy did I learn a lot about system maintenance.

Cheers!

Hey Chesh. Thanks for saying that. Makes me feel a little less embarrased to be asking these things! LOL

Another noob here

I also just got into playing with an Apple II.  My dad brought home a ][+ from work when I was a kid (he was a teacher and used it for lesson plans, etc).  I, of course, latched onto it with much enthusiasm (and helped him by finding software for creating quizzes for class).

My reindroduction came from buying a IIe Plartinum at VCFMW over the weekend.  I'm already having way too much fun with it and this forum has been amazing getting started.  Thanks everyone for all the great content here.

Apple //c and Mac SE/30

As with my Apple //c (acquired in 1985) and my recently re-acquired recapped Mac SE/30, the great attraction to me is being able to freely download and use software that was financially out of reach for me at the time I originally purchased these computers.

The main thing I'm looking

The main thing I'm looking forward to is playing with the Apple II as an adult that can understand more of the details.  As a kid, I had no real idea what I was doing or what the computer was really capable of.  I never got much past how to load/copy files and play games.  I just thought the monitor was what happened when things broke and I'd just reboot.  Granted, it's probably because I had no manuals (none came with the system from dad's work).

Learning with fresh eyes about the computer itself is the draw for me.
