Albert Computer

Hello Fritter forum,

Long time stalker first time poster here.

I am posting in hopes of gathering some information regarding the Albert computer.
I know it was marketed as a “Smarter Then Apple” computer. I have also read the write up on resestvector.com as well a brochure or two on it.

What I’m trying to determine is how rare they are or how many were made? It appears that the company was only in business for 12-18 months and failed to gain much traction before apple shut them down?

Does anyone have any memories of using them or know anyone who did?

Is it a machine that is preservation worthy? Museum worthy? Or has any historical significance? (Other than being a small blip on the radar for Apples law team)

Thank you for any input you may be able to provide in this regard.

Re: Albert Computer

Yes I was aware of that thread. Thanks for reminding me about it.

FLimits was acting on my behalf there. I have not had contact with her in sometime so I thought I would take a little initiative and re-stoke the topic. I'm getting the impression that there are very few Alberts in existence. The few I have read about are either in museums or not working.

I'm basically inquiring because in short I aquired a "fair" amount of Albert equipment and I'm trying to asses its rarity and coincidentally its value from both a historical and monetary standpoint. I know the easy awnser is "put it on eBay" however this situation is a little more complicated then that and would require more dialect then I would care to discuss publicly at this time.

I was just hoping to learn, network, and perhaps save a piece of history if it's worthy of salvation.

Thanks

Re: Albert Computer

I have worked with with FLimits in the past and as I stated she was working on my behalf when she made that post. However any attempt to contact her as of late have yielded no fruit. She has disappeared from what I can gather. I did send Cory986 a PM to his VCF account a few days ago. Currently no response. I also sent an email to the folks at resetvector.com a while back and got no response.

That's why I decided to make a "public plea" if you will, because I'm 0/3 in the private message department.

Thanks

Re: Albert Computer

I actually responded to your PM this morning.

I was in Prague all week for work and didn't have a lot of free computer time, so I figured I'd wait till I was back in the states. Check your VCF account for my response.

Speedy, I didn't have time this trip to take any time in Germany, maybe next time. I literally had less than 60 minutes in the Frankfurt airport. Next time if I can get a few days in Germany, I'll rent a car and visit friends. You are one of the people I'd love to have a beer with in person.

Cheers,
Corey

I will be getting rid of an Albert during KansasFest 2015, if anyone from here happens to attend.
