I’ve been working on bringing the Norse Wanderer BBS back to life at https://norsewanderer.com, based on the Apple II BBS my friends and I ran in Pacific Palisades CA in the 1980s.
The site currently has a web-based version of the BBS, but I’m considering adding Telnet access so it can be accessed more like a traditional BBS, from a terminal, vintage computer, or modern Telnet client. Before I spend the time implementing it, I’m curious if anyone here would actually use Telnet access and use the BBS? If there’s enough interest, I’ll add it.
I am also thinking about modem support, but that would be a much bigger project, the idea would be to try and get my old number back or a new one, and setup a virtual modem using something like SynthModem to access the board that way directly from original hardware with a modem connection.
