Dead //e Platinum

Hi

Have been running my //e Platinum for a few months since giving it a good clean and after about an hour last night the program I was running crashed, thought nothing of it, turn it off and went to bed. Turning it on today all I got was garbage on screen and no beeb.

1. Any thoughts on how to fix?

2. Can someone point me to a Platinum schematic pdf?

Thanks

Robert

This SAMS covers the enhanced

This SAMS covers the enhanced motherboard of the Platinum with the two 64x4 RAM chips. You can see it on page 1.2.4: https://apple2online.com/wp-content/uploads/Sams-Computer-Facts-Apple-IIe.pdf

Try the Apple manual for this

None of them.

When the extended-keyboard //e came out, SAMS added a motherboard-identification diagram but didn't update their schematics -- nor did they add pinout diagrams for the new 27128 ROM or 64x4 DRAMs.  But SAMS guides aren't great in PDF scans anyhow -- their sprawling tables, diagrams, and schematics just don't fit.

For your //e, consult the 1986 edition of the Apple IIe Technical Reference Manual.  Your schematic appears in Figure 17.6a "Extended Keyboard IIe Schematic diagram" on page 233 of the PDF (marked page 205 in the original).  The 64x4 RAM pinouts are on page 197 (169), and the 23128/27128 ROM pinouts are on page 196 (168).
