Floppy EMU -- Help

Hey guys,

It's been like many years since I fired up my Model A (SD Card) and Model B (Micro SD Card) Floppy EMU and for the life of me I cannot get any DSK image to boot.

SLOT 6 is my card and 1 ribbon cable off the top going into an AB switch which sends to a to physical drive and the Floppy EMU.

None will boot. Floppy EMU recognizes each DSK image but it won't do anything when I power up the Apple II. The mode says Apple II on the Floppy EMU when it starts.

Physical drive off the card thru AB switch works just fine. Boots off traditional floppy disk but not the floppy EMU.

Any suggestions?

When you say that "the mode

When you say that "the mode says Apple II" on the FEMU, do you mean that the Apple II FOLDER is highlighed on the FEMU screen? If so, then you need to hit the Select button and then choose one of the disk images in there.

Remember that the Floppy Emu

Remember that the Floppy Emu takes time for itself to boot up.

But once a .dsk, .po or .do image is loaded it should boot properly.

...Provided that the Floppy Emu's firmware is set to Apple II mode and not Macintosh mode.

...and it is set to 5.25" disk mode (if you're using it in a slotted Apple II with a traditional disk controller card)

You may need to either refresh your SD card by reformatting it and copying your images back to it. (make sure you copy your images off of it first!) or refresh the firmware of the Floppy Emu itself - for that refer to Bigg Mess Of Wires' website and the product manual.
