Lost Classics Down?

When I try to access the Lost Classics Project (http://lostclassics.apple2.info/) I get a page that says Access Denied.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Hello Rick71,

the conclussion is wrong.
If the site is down you would get a
Page 404 error telling you that the page is not responding / availiable.....

the "access deneid" message tells that the access to the page is restricted by
the admin of the website.

In such case you´d have to mail to the admin to check
privelidges / rights granted for access of the dir / page......

such errors happen in general at sites that demand users to log in....
if then someone tries to access the page by "direct link" the code
in the page detects that the user is not logged in ( normally a cookie is missing )
and then the access to the page is rejected and the "access denied" error
message is displayed instead...

I have accessed this page by the noted link many times both by typing it in the URL bar and by bookmark. Apparently I am not the only one having this problem, although I can find no other references on the Web.

I wonder if there is a hosting problem?

Thanks for answering.

Re: Lost Classics Down?

I don´t bother if the page is availiable or not....
I just explained the difference of error code and the reason for the difference...

there are several reasons for such kind of behavior:
depending to the hosting system there are different kinds of scripting
for the behaviour of a site:
LINUX: PHP or Perl ------ Windows: ASP ( active server pages )
maybe the site was earlier hosted by one system with working scripts
and then later moved to a hosting system with deactivated scripting caused by wrong
scripting language and then again moved back to a hosting system where the
scripting language got active again....
or the pages have been updated with the scripting language damanded by the new hosting system....
caused by the author who wanted to get the log in process working again....?

I just spotted out the kind of error and it´s reason....

Lost Classics is one of Tony Diaz's sites. He also runs 16sector.com (among others), which has been returning '500' errors for several weeks now, though "store.16sector.com" still works.
