Hi!I have a Monitor /// with a screen filter that is dirty. I have tried cleaning it but the dirt (or gunk) is not coming off.Anyone who has experience of removing the filter and cleaning it and (if successful with the cleaning) re-apply it?New filters aren't available anywhere I guess?
Thanks!
What did you use to clean it?
Please photograph the screen so that I can see the contaminents.

Oh heavens. He completely destroyed the glare layer because of that tiny pinole? ::SLAP::
Please, please, never do this. The satin appearance of the /// monitor is part of its appeal.
well, KP wants disassembly instruction, and that video will fit the bill.
I know. It's just disturbing to see someone rip it to bits when that plastic retainer only exists to hold the mesh in place, not to space the case and screen. I have a tiny tear in one of my Monitor /// units, and I don't even notice it when it is on.
I asked to see a photo of his unit because it may not need disassembly, depending on what type of contamination is on the mesh. I'm also curious which bezel colour he has. They made them with tan, grey-tan, and black bezels. These were to match the ///, the ///+, and ... I'm unsure why they made the blac bezel. Perhaps for Bell & Howell. :D
If the OP doesn't want the mesh, I do.
Please, please, restore the mesh or trad it to people who will. Don't destroy it! There is no aftermarket source for that part now.
I wonder what material the mesh itself is made of -- it might be possible to find a suitable replacement and glue the material to the original frame.
Here's a snapshot I took of the screen (with maximum brightness on so it's easier to see). The gunk is kind of hard and it will not go away when cleaning with a screen cleaner or some warm water. I've tried with a soft cloth (no paper) to be as gentle as possible with the mesh screen filter.
