Hi

I'm new here. Good morning everyone.

I have a SE30 with this problem: the simasimac image.

SE30 has been recapped and It seems to boot correctly because when you turn it on you can hear the initial chime and

and the noises of loading from the hard disk, but the image does not change.

I've tested 2 chip of videoram, changed LS166, I replaced all the PALs with a definitely working chipset.

If i remove all the ram simms i can hear the bad chime but the image still the same.

tThe problem seems to be strictly related to the video section, but where?

LS393 ? F253 ?

Thanks

Fabio

The simasimac pattern only

The simasimac pattern only indicates that the video RAM has not been initialized. Many things can keep that from happening, including a poor connection to the ROM SIMM. After you recapped the board, did you thoroughly clean it? Did it suffer from any PRAM battery leakage? A failed chip is certainly a possibility, but not usually the culprit -- dirty connections, inadvertent shorts or damaged PCB traces should be ruled out too.

Thanks for replyI I don't

Thanks for reply

I I don't think it's a simm rom problem because the computer boots. However I tried another healthy simm rom without any changes.

No pram battery leakage. The battery was removed before it could do any damage.
